<P><b>New Years Eve 2003 � Fifth Ace Entertainment Style </b>

<P>As I looked over the table littered with confetti, party hats, horns and noise-makers, devoured plates of food, half empty drinks reflecting potential of the night to come and the eyes of my companions that were gleamed over with joy one thought came to mind; Fifth Ace Entertainment has come a long way. 
<P>I remember when Fifth Ace Entertainment founder Dan Koch was the simply the favorite DJ at local bars in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. He captured the idea of what a fun night should be with perfection in song selection and an uncanny feel for the crowd. Many of the patrons, impressed with his skill, professionalism and personality, would request Dan for their weddings and parties. It was at that point that Dan decided to put  money away for his own equipment.  � I could have been doing weddings and events a year earlier, but I wanted to get top of the line equipment,� explained Dan. 
<P>From weddings to clubs to every party you can think of Dan has injected his philosophy of fun and customization to every event he DJs. �So many DJs will start with telling you what they will play, at Fifth Ace we ask you what you want to hear. Every group and event is different. You can�t play the Electric Slide four times and call it a night.�
<P>What ever the philosophy is it sure works. At the New Years bash the dance floor was never empty despite the aching feet of many of the female attendees. �My feet hurt so bad, but I couldn�t help myself,� said Bonnie White, �Every song was one of my favorites.� 
<P>The event was held in a ballroom at the Pittsburgh Airport Wyndham and included an excellent dinner, entertainment, prizes and an open bar for a mere $55.00 per person.  Koch was also able to negotiate discounts for hotel rooms at nearly 50% off of the regular price. �An open bar and driving don�t mix so I made sure that affordable rooms were available for everyone.� The Airport Wyndham was happy to oblige. �The Wyndham was great,� said Koch, �We worked out a nice package.�
<P>As for the night�s entertainment, Fifth Ace pulled out all the stops. The music flowed perfectly as more and more fun-seekers flooded the dance floor. By the time Auld Lang Sine was played there were few chairs with people in them.  After all the New Year�s kissing, a �Humpty Dance� contest broke out with all eyes on winner Andy Macurak. �I just tried to look like MC Hammer on crack and it seemed to work.�  
<P>By the end of the night the couples found slow jams they could cuddle up with and by the time Koch announced the night was over many were happy to retire to the comfort of their rooms just a few flights up.
<P>All and all the night went off without a hitch and fun was had by all. As Koch loaded up his equipment a satisfied smile dawned his weary face. All his hard work behind him, he looked at the empty ballroom and whispered, �I can�t wait for next year.� 
<P>Me neither, Dan� me neither�
